Born in New York City and raised in Great Neck, Long Island, Lynn moved to NYC after graduating from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with an MFA in painting. At Cranbrook, she studied with George Ortman, who had been a student of Hans Hoffman. In NYC, Lynn apprenticed with painter Agnes Martin and multi-media artist Harmony Hammond. These two artists left an indelible impression on Lynn and her approach
to painting.
While raising her two sons as a single mother, Lynn used her art background to become a creative director and entrepreneur in advertising. After selling her business, Lynn became a teacher with the NYC Department of Education, setting her sights on becoming a special ed art teacher. Her students with autism and multiple disabilities used their senses to explore lines, colors and shapes to produce 2 and 3 dimensional art that would help transform their lives in speech, problem solving, hand-eye coordination and independence.
Lynn is now painting full time in her studio.
